Paul's Thorn in the Flesh
Paul had discovered God's grace and power in the place of his greatest weakness and suffering. The Corinthians should have known that Paul was the genuine article, he says. He shouldn't have needed to play the part of a fool to show the Corinthians that he is by no means less than the supposed super-apostles.
