The Importance of Honesty
Psychologists say our honesty is driven by two competing forces. We want to look at ourselves in the mirror and feel good about what we see. On the other hand, we also want to benefit from potential gains where they are possible. Studies show that all of us will cheat if it leads to gains as long as it doesn't spoil our self image or ego motivation.
