Theoretical Models of the Earth's Redox State
The study looked at the redox state of high-temperature fluids and then used that information to calculate using thermodynamic models how that would affect metals. We were able to measure the concentration of a trace impurity titanium that's found in the zircon structure. The chlorine content is actually consistent again with some sort of fresh water source.
