The Transition From Elijah to Elisha

Elijah tells his father and mother that he will no longer be living with them. He says God has called him to something else. This is a foreshadowing of the same transition that we are going to witness when John decreases and eventually dies, is martyred. And then all focus shifts to Christ, who like Elisha has a name that means God saves or the Lord saves.
