The London Free School

The London Free School was meant to be a collective of people who would help each other and themselves. Britain's first underground newspaper, The International Times, was put together by those involved in the Free School. Notting Hill Carnival came from the merger of outdoor events organised by the Free School with older community events. A group of musicians called AMM performed totally improvised music, with no structure and no normal sense of melody and harmony.
