Jim was born to a very strict methodist family. His father was a solicitor they lived in Penath in Victorian Wales. Lots of mahogany lots of dark carpets it's dark carpets heavy curtains and I think it's an interesting thingLots of stuff but none of it in very good taste you know that sort of high Victorian just Ottomans, whatnots, anti-machassos all of the rest of it. That role of browning is a fun room. You can sort of see what Jim does as a total reaction against that kind of upbringing. He said he used to dig holes in the garden and other little boys would expect to dig through to Australia
