The Positive Aspect of Pursuing Virtue

Virtue is demanding, but first of all, we have God's grace to help us. Aquinas says the hallmark of virtue is to act with ease, promptness, and enjoyment. We think of Saint Paul, and he talks about rejoice always, right? Always, when we look at Saint Paul, a man who was beaten and imprisoned and shipwrecked and misunderstood and denied and rejected and ultimately beheaded, where all these sufferings and he still says, I rejoice. If we don't have that, then what are we offering to the world? What's going to appeal to people? It's Christianity. But virtue is part of that joy. So is it hard?
