CHAPTER

Why Is It OK to Like Violate People's Rights?

The motivation for saying that like don't violate people's rights, ineffective altruism is more from coming from moral uncertainty than like political palatability. I mean it's like in a sense of a determinant there's like a lot of reasons why it's good. One is that if you talk about whether it's okay to like violating people's rights if all have good consequences then they're just going to constantly mess up and violated people's rights. Then there's also just like disgust I think that people have even sitting aside like fundamental like we're thinking that it's wrong. It's like kind of appalling on some like gut level even sitting aside  in this sort of argument.
