Savannah Burning: A Methodology to Manage GHG Emissions

The methodology is called Savannah Burning. It was developed at the Darwin Centre in a collaboration between indigenous land managers and scientists spearheaded by Kamal's colleague Professor Jeremy Russell Smith. The importance of managing greenhouse gas emissions became a central focus for the federal government because they need to meet their requirements for the Kyoto Protocol. Those Australian carbon credits units then you can sell either to the Australian government and this ERF which is emissions reduction fund or you can also sell those carbon units to private companies like Shell, BP and others.
