Kerry is increasingly convinced that the government tried to have or someone tried to make him murder the president. Periodically, he will go to his friends, Robert Anton Wilson, Bob Shea, Greg Hill, and he'll try to talk to them about this. And they don't really notice that he's serious because the language they all communicate with is like making up conspiracy theories. So it takes them a while to realize like, oh no, Kerry's actually in some distress here.
