The Movie Is More a Symbolism of the Seasons
i think for me the movie ultimately makes more sense less as a literal reading in that sense. There's this symbolism of the seasons and you have winter spring mid-summer or summer then it goes back to winter. i'm kind of like emotionally in danny's boat not that christian deserves to be put in a bear costume and burned but i but just like emotionally i'm caught up in the catharsis of that. I don't feel bad for christian at the end, even if i can be sympathetic a little bit towards him at the beginning.
