The Sooter's Gift to the Princess

Sooters from all the nearby kingdoms visited with lavish gifts hoping to win her hand. The king had a magnificent white horse and one of his favorite pastimes was to go out on a long ride. One day, while he was enjoying a canter through the woods, his horse was spooked by a wildly fox. Although he mostly fared all right, he caught his foot in the stirrup. He rested for many days and many court healers supplied poltuses, but his foot never quite felt the same. It made him sad to think he might not be able to enjoy life as he had before.
