The Tva Coal Spill and the Death Toll
The initial spill results in no injuries or deaths but several of the employees of an engineering firm hired by tva to clean up the spill develop illnesses including brain cancer lung cancer and leukemia as a result of exposure to toxic coal ash. By the 10 year anniversary the spill more than 30 had died and i'm not sure i totally understand medically what that exposure did to peoplebut ultimately the determination was that the people in charge should have known what was going on with these holding ponds, he says.
