The Wood Duck by James Thurber

Jonathan Latham and a friend went looking for cider in New Milford, Connecticut. They found it at Morris Plains Farm near the main trunk highway. Nearby was a roadside stand with a dirt driveway curving up to the front of it. The pair also saw a wild duck on their way back home.
