Japan's Defense Spending in the East China Sea

Japan is seeing a more challenging regional security environment in their neighborhood than at any time since world war two. There's an ongoing discussion about acquiring what they counter strike capabilities, longer range missile systems that would allow them to strike fixed intrstructure on the chinese mainland and in north korea. The japanese are now looking at options for acquiring a capability along these lines within the next five years.
