Most of the time, i would say it's implicit rather than explicit. We want to make choices that are better, but impulsivity often overrides our tendency to do things that we know will at long term value. How do we solve for that? What can we do better? And there's really two approaches thatre points to, i think, as most useful and they both involve changing the calculus of the choice. One is to try to make the behaviour that you know is good for you in the long run more instantly gratifying, so there's not attention any more. The other is a very specific way to link temptation bundling with what you love - which i call 'time
