Introduction

The 12 tables of roman law were created around four, 51 b c. At the time, nobody knew exactly what the law was. The romans were held together by an unceasing series of wars against their neighbors to the north east and south to the north. They fought a particularly hard campaign against their old nemesis, the vaites, that ended with a dressed up battle of thermopyli.
