In the 19 seventies, there was a robust industry of investigative journalism. I think folks in our generation felt compelled to fall in line. There's also obviously a genuine atmosphere of fear and drama. And when people are frightened, i the last thing they want to think is that their institutions are failing and they're not protecting them. That's certainly the story of our era.
