Antimatter was first discovered by Carl Anderson in Cosmic Rays, but the cosmic rays themselves were not antimatter. Many kinds of radioactivity give off anti-matter particles. Light can come in from outside the black hole and be observed by you in your telescope. There's absolutely no reason to think that somehow the world is more obviously quantum mechanical just because you're inside a black hole. You wouldn't even notice if the black hole were big enough.
Welcome to the October 2022 Ask Me Anything episode of Mindscape! These monthly excursions are funded by Patreon supporters (who are also the ones asking the questions). We take questions asked by Patreons, whittle them down to a more manageable number — based primarily on whether I have anything interesting to say about them, not whether the questions themselves are good — and sometimes group them together if they are about a similar topic. Enjoy!
