Being Strong Isn't About Putting on a Brave Face
When people are acting tough, their brave face is usually about wanting to be perceived as someone who just doesn't experience pain. Sometimes it takes more mental strength to acknowledge and express emotions than it does to just ignore them or to pretend that they don't exist. Talking about your emotions and asking for help when you need it is a big part of being strong. Acting tough might cause you to worry more about getting to the top, rather than the process that it takes to get there.
