The Power of Mercy
The beatitudes make that point in a number of ways. You have blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteous, which also could be translated justice. And then it's followed by blessed are the merciful. The person who is focused on justice can become so focused that it becomes their besetting sin. They look through that lens, they become like, you know, Javere from Les Mis. Yeah. And they have to set everything right. And then they become angry and bitter. It's at that point necessary to remember the need for mercy.
