Introduction
Jonathan Peggio: One of the important aspects of symbolism, as I've often said, is that it is fractal. And so you have a beautiful example here by the contemporary iconographer, Aiden Hart. On the right side of Christ or on his right, he is blessing with his hand, and on his left side, he is holding a book. In this case, it's a straight direct influence. And the left hand is a moving away from the center. But at the same time, it is also flexible because orality has an impermanence to it in terms of its manifestation. It doesn't have physical instantiation.
