What Will the Geologists of the Far Future Learn?
The geologists of the far future will put two and two together. They probably will find evidence for global warming, as we currently can do in ancient strata. Will certainly find evidence of the mass extinction, because that will appear in the fossils. As well as reconstructing the story of the vanished civilization, they will also work out how that civilization interacted with the rest of the planet. That would be an obvious question for them.
