The Moral Step Forward in the Old Testament
The New Testament doesn't say what apologists need them to say. Philemon is not a condemnation of the social institution of slavery, he says. In Galatians 3 28, where there's neither June or Gentile, slave nor free, male nor female, this is a spiritual statement. The big thing here is that outside of these supernatural provisions, it's just not there.
