Do You Want to Replicate Human-Like Intelligence?

The original goals of the field were really to capture human-like intelligence. But there's obviously a lot of benefit in non-human-like intelligence and we see that with some of these efforts to apply AI to scientific discovery. On the other hand, if we want AI systems to work in the human kind of social world where they're interacting with humans like say a self-driving car, we don't want them to think very differently from us. That would result in disaster as it has in some cases.
