12 hours before christine powell and sonia larsen were discovered, an 18 year old gainsville woman named christa hoyt did not show up for work. Christa was a student at santa fe community college, which was right down the road from the university of florida. After graduation, she wanted to pursue a career inferensics with the fbi. When this crime scene was processed, the forensic team immediately noticed there were marks on the back sliding glass door where some one had used, probably a screwdriver or something similar to pop the door open.
