The G7 Summit and the US-Japan Pilot
There were remarkably few points of friction in these summits. In every meeting, they moved the ball forward. The Japan-Kriya piece was big and almost got lost in the stories. It really opened up Japan Korea and US Japan Korea so that there are trilateral exercises and intelligence sharing with North Korea and China. And those were really quite important. But I think the biggest problem for President Biden was not shortening the trip. There's never been such a clarity about the challenge from China. What's happening in Taiwan Strait or South Pacific or Himalayan mountains are all linked. A lot of pretty much thanks to Xi Jinping's clarity agreement on that.
