I would like to begin by acknowledging and paying my respects to the elders both past and present who have cared for and protected the land we stand on. I also extend my gratitude to the emerging custodians who are committed to preserving this land for future generations. To truly acknowledge and care for our country, we must learn how to read it, understand what it is telling us and move with it. My father grew up in the Aboriginal community of Gleeb in Sydney where he experienced extreme poverty, domestic violence, forced removal and limited education. As a teenager, he worked at the Mungo Scots flower mill located in Lewishin which was renovated into a heritage listed office building worth millions of dollars
