iam going to look at four hatiens who spent many years living in decar and worked toward nation building in the newly independent senegal. First i am going to describe how each of them came to africa, and then iam going to looks at how, individually and collectively they contributed. The first to arrive was the poet and journalist gerard chenet. He helped organize the student strike that ultimately toppled the lescot regime and ushered in the revolution of 19 forty six.
