Abhisena thought that humans could be spontaneously generated, like worms from rotting meat. This is an example from natural philosophy which is linked to the ontology of forms also and theories of generations. But spontaneous generation remains a topic that people discuss because it was difficult to explain how life originates from matter without any parents.
