The Diary of a German Prisoner of War
There are very few surviving diaries from the concentration camps. gustav began his on the second of october 19 39, the day he arrived in buchenwalt. He wrote the last entry in it in the summer of 19 forty five, when he was making his way back across germany to vienna. Even fritz didn't know about the diary until after the war. And i was actually quite angry with his father, because he had been not only in danger himself, but the people were close to him.
