So the more you exercise hearing and then playing or responding to something, the better you're going to be at jaspvisation. And so a great way, of course, is when you're learning the melody to the gaer, learn it by ear. If i'm going to be focusing on any theory, cause, right, there's a ton o theory that i remember when i was starting out,. The idea is not that we're reading musical information as a different language but rather internalizing it.
