The Argument for a Public School System
As the idea of a publicly supported educational system, as it started to spread, people were on board. The argument against things like the Department of Education falls apart when you realize that every time a kid gets a successful education leading to employment opportunities,. That's one less person who is going to be out stealing car radios. You know what I mean? There are long-term benefits. Also, who could potentially be a drain on the system in terms of welfare, whatever it meant.
