Jesus and the Woman Taken in Adultery
The situation had all the signs of entrapment. The woman was supposedly caught in the very act red handed, yet no man was taken. None of her accusers had any standing upon which to judge in her case. Were that community to carry out the death penalty on that woman, the line between innocence and guilt would have been drawn wrongly. Perhaps we should see jesus actions here as a symbolic performance of the test of jealousy.
