The Potential of Perennial Crops for Feeding Cows
Perennial plants are good at storing a lot of carbon in the ground because they have huge extensive root systems that are alive year-round. We could use perennial crops to feed those cattle who aren't going to be getting grain anymore so we can plant it to pasture and hay crops, return it to native prairie and in cattle can graze there. Won't produce as much meat, but we wait too much meat anyway.
