The parables are kind of framed in terms of the eschatological kingdom looking backwards and saying this is what it's going to look like. The idea that they're clearly abandoning a call to abandon cherished assumptions about rebuilding the national fortunes of Israel is just is so bizarre, says Rabbi Shmuley Boteach. In 2nd Baruch you have descriptions of God in the heavens as well as angels in charge of the treasuries but also for truly my salvation which comes near and has not as far away as before.
