The oceans are already severely compromised by pollution, everything from mercury to pesticides and heavy metals. The concept of using the ocean as the ultimate dumping ground for everything that we don't want on land is not only wrong for us, but it's also wrong for future generations. This is a very unique opportunity for Japan, TEPCO, and the International Atomic Energy Agency to up their game to be visionary and proactive. There have only been two number sevens in the history of nuclear power plants: Chernobyl and Fukushima.
