Basal Baruchky's Murder Spree Triggered Awful Memories

Basal Baruchky was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 70 years. The judge characterized him as a violent, vindictive, calculating abuser of women. Ironically, the sentencing decision was delivered on the anniversary of the 1989 Ecole Polytechnique massacre which became the national day of remembrance and action on violence against women. In August of 2019, the Ontario government announced an inquiry to examine the circumstances of the deaths of Natalie, Carol and Anna.
