The dangers in embodiment and the dionysian is that they can become arenas for all kinds of nightmare sweis. And we need a way of marshalling and affording and empowering human capacities for self deception. Charles taylor made an excellent argument that what we got out of the enlightenment on modernity, are not the same thing as those who have been overwhelmed by demonic forces. We should be calling that into question but it is a dangerous thing to call into question.
