Parda: The disproportionate burden of women being responsible for domestic work is a real supply side constraint that needs to be fixed. She says in rural India, the rate of job creation is very low and agricultural technology has displaced female labor more than male labor in agriculture. Parda: I think there is something called economic discrimination. And I think India has it too, Indian women are just as ready to move out of their homes as other women are elsewhere in the world.
