The Importance of Having Everyone on Board

In medical pneumothoroses it's pretty well accepted that one of the 14 French pigtail type tubes is more than adequate and there's usually very little reason to have a larger tube. Trauma is a little bit different because you're more likely to have some blood mix in there. So for the average patient when you stick in a 28 French tube you're crushing that neurovascular bundle. For any patient that gets a 28 you're causing them a lot of pain. And sure you'll give them pain medication but they probably will find that very uncomfortable.
