The Importance of Hardware Accelerators for Zk Proofs
The hash function that Ethereum chose at the beginning turned out to not be zk friendly. The number that I kind of hear is on the low end, it's about 100,000x and on the high end, like 100 million x. So speaking of computational efficiency, does it even make sense to build hardware accelerators for zk proofs today? But then if you try to build a hardware accelerator, can it even be generalizable enough? Is this a right problem to think about or no?
