Artage: Windows is about a lot more than just games, but they needed something before DirectX to show there's something to gaming on Windows. It struck me not as like talking to people who want games; it struck me more as almost creating new computer gamers. And think of your average PC gamer at the time. You know, what were they playing? They were usually deep intosomething like Flight Simulator or, you know, the, I guess, King's Quest, a Call of Death style.
