The Future of Local News

There used to be a newspaper for every town, maybe several newspapers for every small town. Does that continue or you don't really see that happening? I unfortunately think that the old model that used to support local newspapers doesn't work anymore. We are seeing some of this happen on Substack. It's a shame that next door and some of these other local social networks didn't go after news.
