How to Be a Good Critic

Criticism, I think, is something that can be more readily learned by learning about the process of epistemology. Background knowledge consists of the stuff that humanity has figured out and can be used to criticize any new idea you have. You can build on actual knowledge rather than recipitulating from the ground up stuff that people already know. If I'm better to stand upon the shoulders of giants, see further and solve more problems, then solving the same problem that Einstein solved. That's fine.
