How to Be a Good Critic
Criticism, I think, is something that can be more readily learned by learning about the process of epistemology. Background knowledge consists of the stuff that humanity has figured out and can be used to criticize any new idea you have. You can build on actual knowledge rather than recipitulating from the ground up stuff that people already know. If I'm better to stand upon the shoulders of giants, see further and solve more problems, then solving the same problem that Einstein solved. That's fine. Solving the sameproblem that people prior to popper tried to solve. It's achieving nothing more than what Francis Bacon did back in the 1600s or the 1700s,. whenever it was around
