The Importance of Genome Sequencing

The standard technique for detecting nuclear DNA is PCR, polymerase chain reaction technology. And the spacers that are used in that technique require a minimum size for the fragments of around 150 base pairs. The DNA that's in the hair shaft is only around 35 to 50 base pairs. There was no one that was mitochondrial DNA in thehair shaft, but not that there was no nuclear DNA there. So now you're just going and looking for those, you know, the address for those snips in the genome.
