The Bisley Boy Myth
The Bisley boy myth is a complete fabrication that we can safely assume was invented almost entirely by Bram Stoker. The fact that this myth has been so persistent, I think, tells us about our continued relationship with female leaders. Women in power still have to deal with ridiculous rumors that they are either sexually depraved, she devils, or that they are somehow unattractively manly. There are some historical myths that carry within them a grain of historical truth.
