A person is gay because it is who they are, period. The widespread national attention around this bill has created an outpouring of protests in florida. One democrat, a state senator, sheveron jones, broke down in tears as he shared his own personal struggles and his journey to coming out to his family. All this protest and outcry ultimately wasn't enough to halt the bill.
