Jason Curland Is Charged With Extorting Lottery Winners in a $107 Million Scheme

A New York attorney known as the Lottery Lawyer is now charged with extorting lottery winners in a $107 million scheme. Jason Curland, Frank Smookler, Frankie Russo, and Christopher Cheer-Cheo were indicted on August 13, 2020. Prosecutors say one of those accomplices is a member of the Genevieve's crime family. The suspects are accused of threatening to torture and kill the families of lottery winners. All four men were charged with 21 counts, including wire fraud and money laundering.
