What's Happening to the Right Whales?

Ships make noise in the same band that whales need to communicate. That decreases their ability to talk to each other. So either they have to change frequency or the pitch of the sounds they make, or they have to make louder sounds and stop talking altogether. I've read that around 80 % of communications for some species of whales have been disturbed by noise. Can that be said for whales as well? We don't really know. And part of that is because whales in the ocean are extraordinarily difficult to study.
